# HubSpot CMS or WordPress: which platform is right for your website?

When a B2B company rebuilds its website, the question almost always comes up: should we stay on WordPress or move to HubSpot CMS? Both are good platforms, but they suit different needs. We build websites in HubSpot ourselves, so here is our view on when each platform is the right choice.

WordPress is the best fit when you need maximum flexibility, special functionality or have your own developers maintaining the site.

## What is the difference between HubSpot CMS and WordPress?

**WordPress** is an open publishing system that powers a large share of all websites in the world. The software is free, but you need hosting, themes, plugins and someone to keep everything updated and secure.

**HubSpot CMS**, part of Content Hub, is a ready made cloud service where hosting, security, SSL and updates are included. The biggest difference is that the website lives in the same platform as your CRM, so every visit, form and page connects directly to contacts and deals.

## Can you combine WordPress and HubSpot?

Yes. With HubSpot's WordPress plugin you can use HubSpot forms, chat, tracking and analytics on a WordPress site. It is a common middle ground. You get much of the CRM connection, but not the full personalization and unified reporting.
